The Persol brand is one of the oldest in the business and is steeped in history starting back as far as the 1920's. An Optician named Guiseppe Ratti designed and built the first protector sunglasses for avaitor pilots of the time. A few years later the trademark Meflecto system was invented. This was the first type of flexiable stem for sunglasses which is still found today in many Persol Sunglasses. The Meflecto concept was also applied to the bridge to improve comfort and the unmistakable Persol silver arrow was designed into the hinge and is still present today. Over the years many famous people have worn this brand but more recently Persol Sunglasses were worn by Daniel Craig in 007 James Bond Casino Royal.
